Should a paleoclimate dataset necessarily contain paleodata information? -- Deborah Khider (talk) 12:07, 6 October 2016 (PDT)
In the LinkedEarth context, PaleoData refers to the y-axis of the dataset. It contains the information about the environment. The question remains: could a paleoclimate dataset not contain information about climate?
This seems paradoxical but we all do exploratory work on archive, perhaps obtaining a few dates to see if the samples correspond to a period of time we're interested in studying. These measurements fall under the chronology information of the archive but could be valuable down the line.

For the same reason as stated in the paleoclimate discussion above, a dataset may not contain any chronological information. For instance, the PI may have done preliminary work on the archive. Should such a dataset end up on the wiki?
